The 3 days Murchison Falls National Park Wildlife Safari, isn’t just about the abundant wildlife that you shall see during the game drives. You are also to witness the power of the White Nile as it forces itself through a 7 meter wide gap. You shall take a boat launch to below the falls and feel that sheer power. Besides the game viewing drives in the savannah grasslands, there shall be a boat cruise to the falls’ bottom. The top of the falls excursion and scenic viewing are also included. Additionally, you will track the endangered Rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Rhino tracking is however optional.

3 Days Murchison Falls National Park Wildlife Safari Plan

Day 1 – Kampala – Murchison Falls Park, Rhinos & Top of Falls

On your first day of the 3 Days Murchison Falls National Park Wildlife Safari, the driver guide shall pick you up from the hotel in Kampala or Entebbe at 7:00 am. Endeavour to have your breakfast early enough. You will make a fantastic drive northwards on the Kampala – Gulu highway. This is the major route to Murchison Falls National Park from Kampala or Entebbe. We shall break at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking. Lunch stop will be in Masindi town from where we shall proceed to the park.

Upon checking into the park, you drive through Budongo Forest Reserve to the top of the spectacular Murchison Falls. It is a very thrilling and dramatic scene! The water moves forward, backward and upward forming a foam like blanket. This is because of the whole Nile forcing itself through a tiny gorge that is barely 7 meters wide. The water plunges 45m down making a loud roar automatically. After this exciting moment, you then proceed to check in at your accommodation. Relax away in the evening or take an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2 – Early morning Game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Early wake up at 6:00am and take a cup of coffee/tea. Head out for a Game drive experience in the northern side of Murchison Falls National park. Starting off early raises chances of catching the elusive nocturnal cats. They are so active by this time. For example, one can spot the Lions, Leopards, Jackals and Hyenas actively hunting. Big game such as the Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, and so many Antelopes are already awake and grazing in the Savannah plains. Your guide will help you with an interpretation of the different animal traits. After roughly 3-4 hours, return to the lodge for full breakfast, refresh and rest before lunch.

After lunch set out for a 3-hour Launch Cruise on the Victoria Nile. The boat Safari sets off at Paraa, going upstream to the base of the Murchison Falls and back. This offers an array of wildlife sightings. Crocodiles, Hippos, birds and lizards are a common sight throughout the cruise. You can also see big game, like buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes, drinking and cooling off by the river banks in the afternoon heat. On return you transfer back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Travel back to Kampala
