Itinerary for the 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla trekking Safari from Rwanda
Day 1: Kigali – Bwindi Gorillas Park Transfer
Notify us about your preferred pick up place in Kigali or your arrival time at the airport. We shall arrange for your driver to meet you at that place for a briefing before the start of the tour. You are to start the trip with Kigali city tour (Genocide Memorial Site and the crafts village) before the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park. Lunch will be at a local restaurant in Kabale or Kisoro town. Continue to Bwindi after lunch, arriving in the evening. Take a walk into the communities near the park for a cultural encounter with Batwa Pygmies. The Batwa used to live in the forest with the Gorillas. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking day
Wake up to the misty chilly weather of Bwindi and grab a cup of coffee or tea to warm you up. After breakfast, pick your lunch boxes and drive/walk to the park offices for registration and briefing before meeting Gorillas in the forest. You will head out to the forest in the company of armed park staff who will lead you to locate your Gorilla family. Walk out of the forest as a genius who has penetrated the impenetrable forest and be congratulated by the staff through a simple Gorilla graduation ceremony. You have an option of returning to your lodge at Bwindi or continue to Lake Bunyonyi for some relaxation and canoeing.
Day 3: Canoeing and return to Kigali, Rwanda
Your breakfast table is set right facing the lake. Enjoy this tasty breakfast as your eyes are treated to the beautiful views of Lake Bunyonyi and its islands. You will set out to have a canoe/boat ride on this lake as you tour its various islands some of which have great cultural and historical attachment for the Bakiga people, the dominant tribe in the area. After the tour, we shall embark on our drive back to Kigali city where you will be dropped off at your hotel or airport and that will be the end of our 3 day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari from Rwanda.
